The Bravo Network has brought me many joys- no kidding. Project Runway, Top Chef and Law and Order marathons could make up for many grievances, but even I am offended by the Real Housewives of franchise.

A potentially positive form of shrinkage.

I think this idea is really interesting. I have often thought less mature and planned out versions of this when I lived in Buffalo, NY. The idea of taking urban decay into your own hands fascinates me. Watching a city die out can be really sad, especially if it’s a city you love and are invested in. Cities like […]

Taxes, Twitter and Dinner
March 30th, 2009 · No Comments
Have I joined twitter? Of course! Did I pay my taxes yet? Just today! I talked about paying my taxes on twitter, which might officially be the most boring thing to update about. But I felt like I had to say something about it! Twitter was open in another tab, and turbo tax was eliciting […]

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
December 4th, 2008 · No Comments
I recently read A Tree Grows in Brooklyn and even though it has the word Brooklyn in the titles I was surprised to see it was practically set in the neighborhood I live in now, and even though it took place about 100 years ago, the book mentioned things like McCarren Park and Cheap Charlies […]

Struggle
November 24th, 2008 · 2 Comments
So yeah, times ARE tough and the economy does suck. How do I know? Like a dummy, I quit my job and am now looking for one. And it is hard, and I am even having difficulty finding a coffee shop job- and I am qualified in coffee work. I kind of didn’t believe the […]
Secretary Clinton
November 21st, 2008 · No Comments
Hillary Clinton might possibly be the next secretary of state, which would be interesting since she has already been denied both the position of president and vice president, alternately by the people of America and by other people who actually get to decide things. I have been hoping (since Biden was nominated VEEP) that Clinton […]
Discernment

In the new political age known as the “Bush almost isn’t President anymore” we have a chance to change the political and social climate for good- and when the next political age dawns, “the Democrats are in control of Congress, watch out” we’ll have even more of a chance. I’m not talking about passing laws […]
Gaffe-tastic

Sarah Palin is famous now. Much like Mike Huckabee, her candidacy has not only invigorated the religious right, it has also made a character out of the candidate. On youtube, someone is always watching something about Palin, whether it’s comedic or from a news source. And I think her existence is responsible for giving SNL […]

Bailout Idea-rs
October 1st, 2008 · No Comments
This awesome bank has sent this awesome letter to Congress. I am so, like, proud of this bank for standing up against the bailout. I assume that all financial institutions are pro-bailout, but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense for anamolies in bailout opinion.

Bailing Out
September 24th, 2008 · 1 Comment
So there’s a lot of news about “economic collapse” and “federal bailouts” but the terminology, chronology and methodology of these stories is really confusing; laymen like us don’t really understand. You’d have to have about three degrees to get it and explain it and the people writing the articles aren’t doing a good job- not […]
