The fans have voted.
And it has been determined that Needle Up! (an amateur band from Buffalo, New York) is the “Spammiest” band on Myspace.
Through their use of illegal spam bots, the band has gathered over 5,000 Myspace friends in a lawless scheme to obtain a record deal.

Dogster Featured on ABC News - Should be Embarrassed: Isn’t.
April 3rd, 2008 · No Comments
Dogster is on a self-inflicted PR campaign garnering all sorts of publicity.
Check out their blog post about being on ABC News.
My feelings? I would never in a trillion billion years announce to the public that my employees are such childish burnouts that I had to put restrictions on what they can and can’t bring […]

Why Do Old Companies Hoard Old Content?
April 3rd, 2008 · 1 Comment
Listen. It’s not that I think everything should be free. Really, it’s not.
Provide me good content for a reasonable price, I’ll make some small internal computations, and if it’s a deal, I’ll pony up.
But what about content that is outdated, is no longer available to the consumer, and is collecting dust in a […]

Is Black Coffee Such a Rare Request?
April 1st, 2008 · 2 Comments
It’s the same every morning.
I hit up Los Amigos Deli in Long Island City for a morning cup of coffee due to its proximity to the train I take to work. And every day I order the same thing.
“Large black coffee,” I say, already nervous, knowing, shivering. “No cream, no sugar.”
I shouldn’t have singled […]

Transparency in Silicon Valley and the Lies of New York
March 27th, 2008 · 1 Comment
The code of transparency in Silicon Valley can get ridiculous. We all know this.
Company x announces a great idea, tries to get funding to create said idea, and bigger/faster company y steps up to the plate and kills them dead.
Sharing of information and progress makes things move faster and is better for the consumer, […]

You should be able to forward twits.
March 25th, 2008 · 4 Comments
It’s 2008.
And when one friend sends out a great twit that I think another friend should read, there’s one very important thing I can’t easily do.
Forward twits from one friend to another.
And I think I should be able to.

I see an untapped market: Instahealth Potion!
March 25th, 2008 · 1 Comment
I’m sick.
Man sick, even. The kind where the tone of my voice never changes from a whine and when I got out of bed this morning and nobody was around to console my mansickness, I had no choice but to spend a half hour describing my symptoms to my cats.
So I went to the […]

Quick Things Before I Go
March 20th, 2008 · No Comments
It’s my birthday, so I’ll be making the voyage upstate for the weekend to be with family and likely not spend much time blogging/twittering.

Myspace vs. Facebook - My first and last post on the topic
March 20th, 2008 · No Comments
Alexa’s got a weird way of reporting (this chart actually means out of every one million users of the internet, x number of users visited site y and z on average), but what you can tell in this chart is exactly what’s creating such heated debate.
Facebook and Myspace are now neck-and-neck with regards to total […]

Neat Web 2.0 Stuff: Viewdle
March 19th, 2008 · 2 Comments
As much as my sympathies go out to Bragster for coming in second place at the Plugg conference, I’m going to write about the winner:
Viewdle.
Simply put:
Viewdle is a white label platform that uses facial recognition technology to identify people in videos.
