7up is the best of the clear liquid sodas. Not only is it refreshing and bubbly, but it’s not too sweet like sierra mist and sprite are. Sierra mist and sprite are clear but go down like a syrupy sweet cola whereas 7up tastes like lemony seltzer. I love 7up.
7up is harder to find than pervasive sprite and sierra mist, and finding it at a deli/bodega is lucky and exciting for me. 7up is practically never served in restaurants, so I never even try to order it.
The surprising thing about 7up’s superiority is that it is discernible immediately. There’s no if ands or buts; 7up is better. Their commercials say “all natural” and you think it’s like a hoax or something, but when you drink 7up, it’s actually good, instead of tasting like thinner corn syrup.
I hereby am calling for a unilateral ban on all clear sodas that aren’t 7up. This does not include clear sodas of the seltzer family.
