As TechCrunch reports, ASCAP has just won a lawsuit against major online music streaming services in the amount of $100mm for artists.
My question: When will BMI be mailing my check?
My music’s getting streamed all over the fuck, and on many of those aforementioned networks.
My case isn’t against musical streaming. My case is against music publishers and licensers and how their money trickles.
I bet Coldplay’s getting a new car. All I’m asking for is my nickel or dime (literally).
And as anyone knows who is involved with these organizations, the cash doesn’t trickle all the way down.
But am I not owed my several cents?
Why am I even cutting a deal with BMI if they aren’t fighting for the rights to my several cents?
Fuckers.
