So Obama finally decides to “denounce” his former pastor, Rev. Wright and gave his sharpest view of the man yet when he said (about his remarks): “It is antithetical to my campaign. It is antithetical to what I’m about. It is not what I think America stands for.”  I expect him to reject him soon too, and to recieve the email in my inbox from Politico accordingly.  The thing is, Wright has been going on somewhat of a PR rampage over the past few days, mostly promoting himself and leaving Obama out of it.  So why has Wright been going on every press/talk show to talk himself up?  Does he feel the need to validate himself and his patriotism?  Does he want attention/dollars to appear on these shows?  Why hasn’t he mentioned Obama?

Sometimes, when I’m at my most cynical, I cannot separate any events pertaining to this campaign; I feel as though everything is orchestrated by the candidates.  For example, is it possible that Wright, with the full acknowledgment and ENDORSEMENT of the Obama campaign, has gone on to publicly say even more offensive things, just so Obama can denounce him after seeming really reasonable and judicious at first?  Or that Samantha Power called Clinton a “monster” so that Obama could fire her and seem all nice and stuff?

Maybe I watched Wag the Dog once.  Maybe I talk about marketing strategies too much with Bryan.  Maybe my father’s cynicism and ‘there’s nothing I can do about it attitude” has finally rubbed off on me.  Then again, maybe this goddamn primary has been going on toooooooo long?!

But with all the media outlets posturing, suggesting, and analyzing, it is difficult to believe that the campaign managers aren’t.  Is it possible that these people don’t read blogs or the papers?  The crazy theories pundits come up with might be baseless and the product of a slow news day, but what if Axelrod is secretly snickering, thinking “HAHA they figured it out but no one will even believe it!” 

This goes both ways, Clinton’s campaign is under just as much scrutiny- is she sabotaging the Democratic party so McCain wins and she’ll be able to win in 2012?  Is she trying to get VP?  Is Bill behind it all?  Is she a secret Republican with a crush on John McCain?  As tiring as these theories become when you see them all at once, separately they seem plausible and indeed, threatening. 

I’m just wondering what Wright said that was so much worse than “God damn America” that finally made Obama be all like, mad and stuff.  Nevermind, I never cared about this Wright bru-haha.  So maybe now it’s not in the ”write about this” inbox.
