The MP3 of the call will be posted here when the call’s over.
Check out TechCrunch. Maybe they’ll host an Mp3 since our server isn’t letting it in.
I’ve stopped taking notes for two reasons:
- There’s not a lot new going on here, so far nothing out of the woodwork.
- This call is mindnumbingly boring. The call is filled with buzz words “innovate, algorhythmic, monetization gap, leveraging competition, exploring options to enhance monetization, speculation” etc, etc, etc.
So here’s what we’ve got so far:
- We’re not going to take Microsoft’s offer unless they make it way higher
- We’re a strong company and brand
- We’re launching a bunch of new shit that will make us more like Google to somehow close the search gap with Google.
Here’s the question they seem to keep begging from me:
Why can’t ballsy big companies like Yahoo make ballsy big statements in calls like this one?
They’ve been cut throat and balls-out the entire time since the Microsoft offer, but they’re too busy tooting their own horn about their new acquisitions (erm, “monetization features”) to give us some real juice.
